Shakespeare Unplugged – Marylebone Theatre
Experience Shakespeare as you’ve rarely heard it before with a special gala performance at Marylebone Theatre this November.
On 22 November, acclaimed stage actor Mark Rylance will be joined by friends and fellow performers for Shakespeare Unplugged, a one-off evening featuring scenes from Shakespeare performed without electronic amplification.
Inspired by the simplicity of the rehearsal room and the traditions of Japanese Kabuki theatre, the event will place the focus firmly on the words and performances, with a selection of contrasting scenes and acts from Shakespeare and other writers of the period.
The evening is also a special fundraiser in support of Marylebone Theatre, an independent venue dedicated to producing high-quality and meaningful theatre without public subsidy.
