Pierre-Laurent Aimard: Kurtág’s Játékok – Wigmore Hall

Pierre-Laurent Aimard concludes his exploration of György Kurtág’s Játékok with a programme reflecting on memory, the passage of time and the enduring dialogue between past and present.

Drawing from the collection’s most recent books, the recital features deeply personal miniatures written in remembrance of friends, alongside works composed for the pianino, the “little piano” associated with Chopin’s Préludes. Pieces from Robert Schumann’s Bunte Blätter offer playful interludes throughout Aimard’s third and final “breath” of Kurtág.
