Metamorphoses: Porcelain Sculpture by Rachel Kneebone – The Wallace Collection

Discover a striking new display by acclaimed artist Rachel Kneebone, bringing a series of intricate white porcelain sculptures into the historic surroundings of The Wallace Collection.

Presented throughout the museum, the exhibition features nine works exploring movement, transformation and the human body, including two newly created sculptures, Bower and Temple, shown for the first time.

Inspired by the collection’s Rococo paintings, decorative interiors and historic bronzes, Kneebone’s surreal, densely layered forms create unexpected connections between contemporary sculpture and the museum’s permanent collection. Highlights include Bower, created in response to Fragonard’s The Swing, and Pull, suspended from the conservatory ceiling.

Running from 23 September 2026 to 25 April 2027, the display offers a new perspective on familiar spaces and invites visitors to explore themes of dance, fragmentation and metamorphosis.
