Dishoom x Shreeji: A Delicious Waste of Time

Step away from the rush of the city and into a slower pace at Dishoom x Shreeji: A Delicious Waste of Time, a three-day pop-up celebrating chai, creativity, conversation, and the joy of doing very little. Hosted at Shreeji, Marylebone’s much-loved South Asian newsagent, the event invites visitors to linger, browse, and embrace the art of taking time out.

Guests can enjoy complimentary chai while exploring a curated selection of tea-themed magazines, freshly baked biscuits, and a series of playful experiences designed for pleasant distraction. Highlights include chai-making wisdom from Dishoom Chef-walla Salim, portrait sessions with artist YoJanda, traditional Indian woodblock bookmark-making workshops, and the chance to try Dishoom’s in-house game of chance, Matka.

At the heart of the pop-up is the Time Pass Room, a cosy space filled with reading corners, soft seating, and slow-moving visuals, encouraging visitors to pause and unwind. Two special Chai Pe Charcha conversations will also take place across the weekend, exploring themes of rest, identity, and creativity over bottomless cups of chai.

Designed as an open, welcoming experience, no tickets are required for the pop-up itself, making it the perfect place to drop in, slow down, and enjoy a little delicious idleness.
