Alexandra Shulman – Daunt Books
Writer and former British Vogue Editor-in-Chief Alexandra Shulman returns to Daunt Books Marylebone to discuss her new book, Black Coffee & Red Lipstick.
Bringing together a collection of thoughtful and sharply observed essays, the book explores the details of domestic and daily life alongside ideas about style, identity and the ways we present ourselves. Drawing on Shulman’s 25 years at British Vogue and her current life as a freelance writer and commentator, the essays move between subjects including friendship, siblings, gardening, grey hair and shopping, all approached with her characteristic wit and insight.
Shulman served as Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue from 1992 to 2017 and was awarded a CBE in 2018. She is also the author of Clothes and Other Things That Matter and Inside Vogue: The Diary of My 100th Year.
