The Newest 10-Year-Old Artist on Baker Street

It’s not every day you come across a 10-year-old with their own art exhibition, but for Myles Leung, that’s exactly how he spent his summer holiday—showcasing his artwork at the Gallery House on Baker Street.

Myles began drawing at age 6, during the lockdown. When his mother asked him what he feared most, without hesitation, Myles replied, “drawing.” Like many children his age, Myles found it challenging to draw straight lines. However, his mother took this as an opportunity during homeschooling to help him overcome this fear and build confidence in his artistic abilities. She sat beside him, encouraging his imagination to flourish. Four years later, Myles is proudly presenting his work in his very own exhibition at the Gallery House.

Titled “From Fear to Flourish,” Myles’ exhibition takes visitors on a journey through his artistic development. At the heart of the exhibition are digital portraits of his family, highlighting the progress he’s made. Myles is quick to remind everyone that it took time to learn his craft—and that he’s still learning. He has no plans to settle on a specific art technique just yet; instead, he wants to explore different styles before committing to one.

The exhibition is currently on display at the Gallery House on Baker Street, W1U 7BT. Myles’ art pieces are also for sale, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the ‘Save the Children’ charity.
