Tell us about Chiltern Street Deli.
Chiltern Street Deli on Chiltern Street opened 5 years ago with a very simple aim in mind – bringing good food, drinks and carefully curated quality products to Marylebone. This is what we have been doing in the past few years, as well as hosting events and workshops, and building a real community feel in the area.
Why did you choose to open your Deli on Chiltern Street and what do you enjoy most about being situated in this part of Marylebone?
Marylebone is a very special part of London for us and we love the neighbourhood with all the independent shops and businesses. You get to meet so many type of people here from regulars who have been living in the area in their whole lives, to students and tourists who are only here for a short period of time.
What can visitors expect on the menu?
You can find everything on our menu from fresh, seasonal salads, classic toasties and sandwiches to sweet treats. We also have juices, ice-cold lemonades, and a truly great coffee menu created by our baristas.
What is your favourite thing about working in Marylebone?
Not to reiterate my last comment but it’s really all the different types of people you meet. Every day is new and exciting and it has a sense of community. All the local stores get together and support each other, which is very rare.
Have you had any famous faces stop by Chiltern Street Deli over the years?
We have indeed, from actors to artists the list is endless!
In addition to your own café, where are your favourite places to eat and drink in the area?
I love Gail’s on Baker Street for everyday bits but also love La Fromagerie on Moxon Street, which is great because you can eat and shop for great food and produce.
How would you choose to spend a free day in Marylebone?
I would start with a training session at BXR Londonon Paddington Street, followed by a smoothie at Joe and The Juice, then task a stroll over to Chiltern Street Deli for Lunch, a small chicken caesar baguette and a Kale salad washed down with some fresh pressed apple juice, and then why not stay till early evening and have a glass of rosè to begin the evening delights!
