Xiaoguo Chen – Mandy Zhang Art

Discover a new solo exhibition by Chinese artist Xiaoguo Chen, inspired by the stories and character of Seymour Place.

Presented by Mandy Zhang Art throughout July, Behind Every Exquisite Thing explores the neighbourhood through a unique “virtual residency”.

Drawing on conversations with local residents, observations of Seymour Place and literary references to Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, Xiaoguo Chen has created a series of paintings that capture the spirit of the street from afar.

The exhibition offers a thoughtful reflection on place, community and the stories that shape our surroundings.
