About
Where All the Wild Things Are brings together the bold and imaginative work of four emerging London graduates — Katja Farin, Jacob Freeman, Michael Gao and Mia Wilkinson, in an exhibition that blurs the boundaries between the human and the animal, the real and the surreal. Running from 11 October to 22 November 2025, the show explores the untamed, the uncanny, and the deeply personal through painting and visual storytelling.
The exhibition transforms the gallery into a charged space where civility gives way to chaos, curiosity and transformation. Katja Farin’s distorted vignettes blend dream and reality, her human figures both vulnerable and searching. Michael Gao’s digitally inspired paintings challenge perceptions of domesticity, his canine subjects hinting at rebellion and wildness within the familiar. Mia Wilkinson’s feral female figures reclaim space through humour, sensuality and the grotesque, while Jacob Freeman’s fantastical worlds create vivid microcosms of wonder and narrative.
Together, these four artists reveal their ‘wild things’ — impulses, emotions and alter-egos — through distinctive painterly languages that capture the strange beauty of being human (and not quite human). Where All the Wild Things Are is an invitation to wander through each artist’s imagined universe and confront the wild within us all.
