Vox Luminis: Magnificats for Christmas – Wigmore Hall

World-renowned early music ensemble Vox Luminis, led by Lionel Meunier, return to Wigmore Hall with a programme steeped in the splendour of 18th-century Leipzig. The evening pairs two festive Magnificats: one by Johann Kuhnau, Bach’s predecessor at St Thomas’s Church, and the original version of Bach’s own Magnificat, written for his first Christmas in Leipzig. Completing the programme is Bach’s celebratory Christen, ätzet diesen Tag.
