Kirill Gerstein and Kronberg Academy – Wigmore Hall

Discover pianist Kirill Gerstein alongside four exceptional young musicians from the Kronberg Academy in an evening of landmark chamber works.

The programme opens with Brahms’s Piano Quintet in F minor, a powerful four-movement work on an almost symphonic scale, bringing together intensity, drama and richly layered writing.

The ensemble then turns to Dvořák’s Second Piano Quintet, a lyrical favourite of the chamber repertoire that has remained widely performed since its premiere in 1888.

Together, the two works make for a programme centred on some of the most substantial and expressive music written for piano and strings.
