Saturday Workshop: Painting Skyscapes – The Wallace Collection

Enjoy an immersive day at The Wallace Collection exploring the creative potential of painting outdoors. Inspired by their exhibition Winston Churchill: The Painter, you’ll learn how to convey a sense of place and atmosphere, capturing shifting light and shadow while managing the practical challenges of working outside. Using water-based paint in the studio and outdoors (weather permitting), you’ll focus on key aspects such as creating a limited palette, paint application, composition and building space. Whether you’re a beginner or developing your practice, you’ll complete several paintings and gain confidence, skills and strategies for painting outside.
