Rise Like Lions Poetry Event

An evening of inspirational poetry, presented and performed by Booker-prize winning writer Sir Ben Okri and two of Britain’s leading actresses, Juliet Stevenson and Nathalie Emmanuel.  

Rise Like Lions is a collection of poems, celebrating the many voices of political utterance. From William Blake to Maya Angelou, Marvin Gaye to Sylvia Plath, it is a rare selection of polemics and rallying cries, lyrics and meditations.

Throughout history, the voice of the poet has been raised in protest against injustice and in support of truth and social change. Join the Marylebone Theatre for an evening to remind us how deeply we need this voice now, and how powerful its inspiration can be.
