Queen Victoria: A Royal Wardrobe Workshop – Wallace Collection
To mark the 125th anniversary of the end of Queen Victoria’s reign, the Wallace Collection invites visitors to enjoy a short, engaging lunchtime talk focused on a truly regal object. Led by Alexander Collins, Curator of Decorative Arts, this bite-sized session takes a closer look at a magnificent wardrobe associated with Queen Victoria herself.
During the talk, visitors will discover the craftsmanship of celebrated cabinetmaker André-Charles Boulle and learn how this impressive piece of furniture made its way into the Wallace Collection. It is a fascinating glimpse into royal taste, decorative artistry and the stories behind one of Britain’s longest-reigning monarchs, all set within the elegant surroundings of the museum.
Places are free and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on the day.
