Modernt Chamber Orchestra – Wigmore Hall

This richly coloured evening at Wigmore Hall brings together sweeping Viennese waltzes, Slavic lyricism and the rhythmic fire of Hungarian folk music.

Led by violinist Hugo Ticciati and the O/Modernt Chamber Orchestra, with soprano Cornelia Beskow and accordionist Leo Florin, the programme journeys through music inspired by folk traditions and dance — from Bartók and Kodály to Dvořák and Strauss — before culminating in Brahms’s exuberant String Quintet in G in a special orchestral arrangement.

It is an atmospheric and generous concert that moves between intimacy and grandeur, celebrating the shared musical roots of Central and Eastern Europe.
