Merry Marylebone: Christmas Lights & Shopping Event

About

Free

To celebrate the start of the festive season in London, Marylebone Village invites you to its Christmas lights switch-on and annual Merry Marylebone event. Taking place on Wednesday 13 November 2024, from 3–8pm, experience an unforgettable evening of festive activities, artisan market stalls, live music, late night shopping and more.

The main stage will again be on Devonshire Street in the middle of the village, featuring many musical and choral performances, with BBC Broadcaster and Marylebone Village resident Jo Good returning as the host of the switch-on event. The Christmas lights throughout Marylebone Village will be lit up on the evening at 6pm by a very special guest, pushing the button to illuminate the village.

Throughout Marylebone Village there will be a range of immersive and fun festive activities to get involved in on the evening; from bauble painting and wreath making workshops, to Santa’s Grotto and a Ferris Wheel. The artisan market stalls will sell a range of hearty street-food dishes, festive delicacies, and artisanal craft and fashion pieces – the perfect afternoon spent shopping for Christmas gifts with a loved one.

Many of Marylebone Village’s favourite shops, cafes, bars and restaurants will join together to offer visitors a huge range of value-added offers, festive experiences, exclusive discounts, and specially created menus. Learn more here.

Santa’s Grotto

Santa’s Grotto is back to Marylebone High Street on Wednesday 13th November from 3-7pm. Families can enjoy a magical meet and greet with the jolly man himself who will be ho-ho-hoing and dishing out gifts to children. You may also see Mrs Claus roaming around the event spreading Christmas cheer!

Donations will be set at £5, with all proceeds going towards this year’s charity partner Great Ormand Street Hospital Charity. The Santa’s Grotto will be located in Marylebone Gardens (behind the Church) at the top of Marylebone High Street.
