Marmen Quartet – Wigmore Hall

The acclaimed Marmen Quartet returns to Wigmore Hall this December, bringing their expressive and highly charged performance style to a Sunday morning recital in Marylebone. Recognised for their striking musical depth and winners of the 2019 Banff International String Quartet Competition, the ensemble has rapidly become one of the most compelling chamber groups of its generation.

The programme opens with Haydn’s String Quartet in F, Op. 50 No. 5 (‘The Dream’), a work famed for its poetic, almost meditative slow movement. It is followed by Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 16 in F, Op. 135, the composer’s final complete major work.
