Marilyn at 100: Exhibit – Atlas Gallery
Discover an online exhibition exploring the image, mythology and inner life of Marilyn Monroe, marking 100 years since her birth.
Presented by Atlas Gallery from June to August, Marilyn at 100: Lost & Found brings together photographs by celebrated 20th-century photographers including Eve Arnold, Elliott Erwitt, Allan Grant and Lawrence Schiller.
Moving between glamorous portraits, intimate candid moments and behind-the-scenes images from The Misfits, the exhibition reveals the many sides of Monroe beyond her carefully constructed public persona.
A particular highlight is a collection of previously unseen photographs taken by Allan Grant for LIFE magazine just days before Monroe’s death in 1962.
The exhibition offers a thoughtful portrait of Monroe as a performer, artist and complex individual, capturing moments of humour, intelligence, solitude and vulnerability.
