Library and Archive Tour: Women of the Wallace Collection
Discover the stories of the women connected to The Wallace Collection with a special guided tour through the museum’s Library and Archives.
Beginning with Lady Wallace, who bequeathed the collection to the nation in 1897, the tour explores some of the first female visitors to Hertford House, including American collector Isabella Stewart Gardner and suffragist and art historian Lady Dilke.
Through historic photographs, rare books and archival papers, visitors will uncover the traces these women left behind and gain a deeper insight into their relationship with the collection and its history.
Taking place on Tuesday 10 November 2026 from 1pm to 2pm, the tour will be held in the Library on the Lower Ground Floor of The Wallace Collection.
