About
The visionary contemporary digital artist Krista Kim brings her groundbreaking installation Heart Space (2024) to London, a mesmerising fusion of art, science and emotion. Known for redefining the relationship between humanity and technology, Kim transforms the invisible rhythm of the heart into a living, digital artwork that celebrates connection in the modern age.
In Heart Space, each visitor’s heartbeat becomes a brushstroke in a shared canvas of colour, light and frequency. Developed in collaboration with ethical-AI firm Tenbeo, the installation captures real-time ECG data and translates it into fluid waves of shifting hues from tranquil yellows and greens to the passionate pulse of red. Inside a mirrored chamber, individual heartbeats merge to create an ever-changing visual symphony, reminding us that even amidst digital noise, our humanity remains beautifully intertwined.
Kim’s concept of the “Heart Signature” introduces a profound new notion of authenticity in the digital era, a cryptographic key derived from the rhythm of one’s own heart, rendering individuality incorruptible and beyond imitation.
