Hands on Armour: The Lucknow Look – Wallace Collection

In celebration of the Swords of Lucknow display, the Wallace Collection invites families to step back more than 200 years into the richly decorated world of the Nawabs of Awadh. This hands-on session explores how rulers in Lucknow used magnificent weapons and armour not only for battle, but as powerful symbols of status, wealth and identity.

Led by the museum’s Hands on Armour team, visitors can handle and try on real and replica pieces from the collection, discovering why appearance mattered just as much as strength in a city where dressing to impress was essential. Designed to be engaging, interactive and informative, the session brings history to life for curious minds of all ages.

Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on the day. Suitable for ages 5 and up.
