About
Marylebone Theatre presents Four Quartets, T.S. Eliot’s culminating poetic masterpiece, in an exclusive spoken word performance.
Blending some of the most lyrical passages of twentieth-century poetry with a profound meditation on spirituality, philosophy and human experience, Four Quartets resonates as deeply today as when it was first written. Its four sections — Burnt Norton, East Coker, The Dry Salvages and Little Gidding — chart Eliot’s exploration of time, doubt, and the search for meaning, capturing both the intimacy of private reflection and the voice of a generation.
This special performance features acclaimed actor Alfred Enoch, celebrated for roles on stage and screen, including Harry Potter, Romeo and Juliet and Pericles. He is joined by Tim Crouch, one of the UK’s most innovative theatre makers, known for An Oak Tree at the Young Vic. Together, they bring Eliot’s words to life with depth, nuance and emotional intensity.
Four Quartets forms part of Marylebone Theatre’s renowned spoken word series, which has previously featured Sir Ben Okri, Simon Armitage and Juliet Stevenson.
