Elisabeth Leonskaja: Schubert – Wigmore Hall

Esteemed Austrian pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja brings her celebrated affinity with Schubert to a recital spanning the composer’s early brilliance and mature poetic depth.

The programme opens with Schubert’s youthful Piano Sonata in B, followed by the four late Impromptus D935, works rich in lyricism, intimacy and subtle shifts of mood. After the interval, Leonskaja turns to the radiant sonata composed during Schubert’s summer visit to Bad Gastein, balancing warmth, elegance and playful energy.
