Churchill’s Wife – The Wallace Collection
Discover the remarkable influence of Clementine Churchill with a special talk exploring the vital role she played throughout Winston Churchill’s political career and private life.
Led by prize-winning author, broadcaster and journalist Sonia Purnell, the talk will examine Clementine’s contribution to key moments in Churchill’s life, from helping to rebuild his confidence following the Gallipoli disaster to encouraging him to take up painting.
The event will also explore Clementine’s own public and diplomatic work, including her efforts to raise funds for the Soviet Union during the Second World War and the wider influence she held as the Prime Minister’s wife.
Taking place on 14 September 2026 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, the talk can be attended at the museum or watched live online via Zoom. In-person guests can also enjoy drinks, a book signing and after-hours access to the exhibitions until 8.45pm.
