Caravaggio’s Cupid Exhibition – The Wallace Collection

From 26 November 2025 to 12 April 2026, The Wallace Collection presents Caravaggio’s Cupid, a free exhibition centred on Victorious Cupid, on special loan from the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin and shown in the UK for the very first time. Life-size and painted directly from nature, Caravaggio’s mischievous Cupid appears mid-triumph, wings spread and arrows in hand, standing amid the discarded symbols of human ambition.

The painting is displayed alongside two ancient Roman sculptures, reunited for the first time in over four centuries. This exhibition brings history to life in a way that’s engaging for all ages. Cupid stands proudly with wings spread and arrows in hand, grinning amid toppled symbols of power and achievement — a reminder that love and curiosity often win the day.

Designed to be welcoming and easy to explore, this free exhibition invites families, art lovers and first-time visitors alike to discover how paintings and sculptures once lived together in a grand Roman palace. It’s a chance to enjoy art, storytelling and imagination side by side.
