BOOKMORPHS: Artists’ Books from Greece & the UK is an exciting interactive exhibition running from Tuesday 14 October to Friday 28 November 2025 at The Hellenic Centre in Marylebone, London. This landmark event presents a diverse and vibrant collection of artists’ books, book-art objects, limited editions, and journals by 44 visual artists, curators, and publishers from Greece and the UK. It’s the first major London showcase to bring these contemporary book art practices into a dynamic conversation.

The exhibition’s title, BOOKMORPHS, references a term coined by art writer Michael Hampton and reflects the transformative and experimental nature of the book as an art form. Visitors can expect a broad range of media including painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, poetry, and digital art, all challenging traditional notions of legibility and engagement with text. Rather than reading in a conventional way, the exhibition encourages tactile interaction, inviting visitors to touch, hold, and activate the works, creating a unique, immersive experience.

BOOKMORPHS also explores themes that span the social, political, cultural, ecological, and gender spectrum through personal and often subversive narratives. By reimagining the codex, these artists push the boundaries of how books can be created and understood as cultural artefacts, emphasising their continued relevance in an age dominated by digital consumption.

The exhibition is curated by Project 2 Athens and Christina Mitrentse, hosted by The Hellenic Centre in the heart of Marylebone. Special events include a private view, a breakfast reception with an artist talk, and guided tours with the curators, offering visitors multiple ways to engage deeply with this innovative showcase.
