About
Atlas Gallery in Marylebone is presenting a striking summer exhibition, Bill Brandt: Beach Nudes. On view from 27 June to 25 October 2025, the show brings together one of the most celebrated series by one of Britain’s greatest photographers.
Created across the desolate beaches of East Sussex and the sunlit shores of Southern France, Brandt’s Beach Nudes captures the female form with an arresting blend of sensuality, abstraction and intimacy. The works, taken during the 1940s and 1950s, are widely regarded as the photographer’s most iconic and sought-after body of work, demonstrating his ability to transform the human figure into sculptural landscapes shaped by light, shadow and texture.
This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience Brandt’s vision in depth, situating his Beach Nudes within the broader context of his career and their lasting influence on modern photography. Visitors will find themselves drawn into a world where body and landscape dissolve into one another, evoking both timeless beauty and avant-garde experimentation.
Atlas Gallery’s exhibition reaffirms Bill Brandt’s place as a pioneer of 20th-century photography, inviting audiences to rediscover his work in an evocative and immersive setting.
