Andrew Wilson: In Conversation – The Hellenic Centre

The Hellenic Centre brings together critic, historian and curator Andrew Wilson with artist Dimitris Ioannou and curator Kostas Stasinopoulos for a conversation exploring the work and methodology of Greek artist Giorgos Ioannou.

Accompanying the exhibition A Different Kind of Pop: Giorgos Ioannou’s Works 1960s–1970s, the discussion will consider Ioannou’s expansive artistic practice and the ideas that shaped his work during a defining period of his career. Led by Wilson, the conversation invites both personal and curatorial perspectives on the artist’s legacy.

Dimitris Ioannou, an artist and the son of Giorgos Ioannou, has managed his father’s archive and collection since his death, while Kostas Stasinopoulos is Director of Exhibitions and Programmes at KYKLOS – Centre for Arts and Cultures. Together with Wilson, they will reflect on how Ioannou’s work can be understood, preserved and reconsidered for contemporary audiences.

Taking place on Thursday 15 October, the event begins with a breakfast reception at 9.30am, followed by the talk and Q&A from 10am–11am. Entry is free, with advance booking required.
