Long ago, it is said, animals walked on two feet and spoke with words just as we do. Among them all, the cleverest creature in the kingdom was Anansi – the infamous spider, master storyteller and original trickster. But sometimes even Anansi’s quick wit can land him in trouble…
Following sold-out runs at the Unicorn Theatre in 2023 and 2025, these much-loved West African and Caribbean folk tales are brought vividly to life by Unicorn Associate Director Robin Belfield. Filled with adventure, humour and imagination, Anansi’s exploits see the mischievous spider outsmart larger foes in stories that have delighted audiences for generations.
Performed on the theatre lawn beneath the open sky, all you will need is a blanket to sit on and a curious heart.
