An evening with Veronica Skotnes – Veranda Books
Join Veranda on 10th November for a special evening of Nordic literature as Norwegian writer Veronica Skotnes discusses her book North of the Winter Sun, an account of her extraordinary sailing adventures along Norway’s northern coastline.
The book follows Veronica’s journey through the remote reaches of Finnmark, where she spent several years exploring isolated fishing villages, meeting local communities and discovering a shared love of the sea. Now available in English, translated by Diane Oatley and published by Akoya, it offers a fascinating glimpse into life along Norway’s rugged coastline.
Veronica will be joined in conversation by writer and critic Oonagh Devitt Tremblay, with the evening embracing a distinctly Nordic atmosphere, complete with traditional gløgg and perhaps a little knäckebröd.
